Bio

Ruby Skye is a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist that has performed in dozens of cover bands, well-known Southeast Tribute Bands, and duo & solo acoustic shows.  She has written and recorded songs that have appeared in BBC television programs and continues to write and record rock, acoustic, and experimental music.

Immersed in music at the age of 5 years old taking classical piano lessons, she switched to guitar at age 15 and wrote her own songs at age 17.  Her father inspired her further by getting her a 4 track recorder to record her songs, which opened her up to the art of recording.  She played in bands in her late teens and early 20s in the Philadelphia area eventually landing in an all-female act playing original songs that she and her bandmates penned.  The band received recognition from Bon Jovi's audio engineer and the band was offered a spec deal.

She has appeared in Family Jewels, the reality-based TV show about Gene Simmons in the 2010s, and on HSN promoting the Keith Urban guitar product line.

With several new projects which include a new album of original material in the works, working with grammy nominated songwriter Jude Johnstone in Nashville, and solo acoustic shows, you can find Ruby playing with These Dreams, Heart Tribute band based in Orlando.

Ruby Skye teaches guitar in her spare time with the dream of giving a lifelong gift to others of music.  She studied with Michael Angelo Batio and also was a student of guitar virtuoso Alex Skolnick.  She currently works on improving her guitar technique and songwriting skills with Metal Blade artist Ministry guitarist, and Madonna's long-time touring guitarist and friend, Monte Pittman.

Ruby Skye has performed with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist, Roger Fisher of Heart and his band The Human Tribe, in Seattle Washington.
